Very Silly Names For Very Serious Beers
Evil Genius Beer Company is a Philadelphia-based brewery that truly fulfills its tagline: Very Silly Names For Very Serious Beers.
In the early months of 2021, Evil Genius also hired me to design three labels for beers that would be exclusively released at their brewery. The label designs were requested to be a fun venture far from their year-round and distributed beers label designs. This allowed wide freedom in design choice and aesthetics.
In early September of 2020, I was contracted for a brand refresh, which was to first focus on 12oz cans and 6-pack boxes of their core beers. The project was paused in late November due to a COVID-19 outbreak at the Evil Genius brewery. The project was to be re-engaged in the spring of 2021 but was ultimately abandoned. The refreshed brand concepts for their beers #Adulting and Purple Monkey Dishwasher are to the right. The concepts focus on creating a standardized look and feel, while also allowing each beer to stand out as an individual through color use.
They contacted me in 2020 to create sell sheets for their seasonal and year-round beers. The new sell sheets utilized many of their current design elements at the request of key stakeholders due to a strong desire to stay consistent with their previous sell sheets. Upon using the existing design elements, I added additional elements of visual interest, including mockups of the bottles and glasses of beer.
